Drug suspect eats cocaine during arrest
News

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A Thomas County man is now in jail after he was released from the hospital for ingesting crack cocaine.

Narcotics agents got a tip over the weekend that 47-year old Donald McMillan and 34-year old Frederick McBurrow would pick up cocaine in Grady County and bring it to Thomas County.

Agents say when they stopped the suspects Chevy pickup truck on U-S 84, it appeared McMillan had eaten crack cocaine to destroy the evidence.

"It's not designed to go in your body. Especially if you put a lot in at one time. I strongly suggest people do not try to eat/ingest cocaine at all if any law enforcement or anybody else comes across them because it can ultimately cost you your life and it's just not worth it," said Narcotics Commander Kevin Lee.

McMillan was taken to Archbold Memorial Hospital before he was transported to the jail.

Both men are charged with cocaine possession with intent to distribute.

McMillan is also charged with tampering with evidence.
