THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A south Georgia technical school is helping earthquake stricken Haiti with supplies an knowledge.
Southwest Georgia Tech Nursing professor Martha Hanna now works part time at a trade school in Haiti.
She and other teachers founded Trade School Haiti last year.
"The idea is to train them as nursing assistants, but if they can't get a job they at least have the skills to take care of their village, their family, their neighbors, their community. They have some knowledge of health care," said Hanna.
Students and faculty at the college are collecting school supplies such as notebooks, calculators, and pencils as well as nursing equipment.
