Darton sits in 8th place

NEWTON, KS.-

 

The Darton golf team is not happy with their first round score at the NJCAA DI tournament.

The good news is they are still in the hunt for the national title despite an opening round 300.At the NCAA DII tournament, GSW's J.P. Griffin shot a 72 and is seven shots off the lead.

Darton sitting in 8th place just eight shots out of first place.

Joe Sakulpolphaisan shot a 70 and Austin McNeill from Douglas shot a 71.

The second round is Wednesday in Kansas.

MOULTRIE, GA – Registration for the Adult Super 6 Soccer league will end Thursday, May 24 at the Moultrie YMCA.

This league is for men and women ages 16 and older.

The registration fee is $350 per team with a 12 player maximum limit.

South GA TU students recognized for being outstanding students

Thomas University students were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements during the annual Honors Reception held Friday evening, May 4, at the Best Western Rose City Conference Center in Thomasville.

Forty-five students were recognized for graduating with honors. Eighteen students were named departmental award winners.

Middle schoolers learn science with rockets

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Faculty and students at a south Georgia middle school are taking science to the next level.

To teach Newton's Laws of Motion, the science department at Thomas County Middle School sets up an annual rocket launch in front of the school.

Hundreds of onlookers watched as rockets made by students and teachers flew upward, sideways, or not at all.

THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - More people are having unwanted encounters with wild animals in south Georgia, and the weather is part of the reason.

The mild winter and early spring led to a long and active mating season.

That means there are more animals wandering around out there and more animals getting hurt or separated from their parents.

That's creating more work for wildlife rehabilitators.
